Design Challenge 2 -Mobile App
7th April [Team Meeting]
On the 2nd meeting we discussed more in depth of our design layout. Eliminating pages that we feel is redundant. All group members were presented for this meeting. Over the weekend i bring back the layout from each member and compiled it into a sketch with the navigation of the pages. This is the objective for today meeting.
Detailed drawing and arrows to show the navigation and function of each pages. Ideas from Rahul and Grant, feedback given from both lecturer and classmate was compiled on the 2 image given
The second part of the meeting, we discussed on how to show the class our new idea with our new low fideity prototype for this week class. Grant amazingly have created a canvas-type-phone and i volunteered to redraw this page in A3 format before the presentation.
Using users feedback and empathizing their concerns, the design prototype above shows clearly how i would go about addressing it.
Reflection of the day: After the meeting i believed everyone in the team have more understanding of the app, on how the looks and the functionality. Any doubts was clarified on this meeting and we look set prepared for the informal presentation this week.
10th April [Class]
The informal presentation went quite well. Personally i could have speak better but due to Bhadjee been late we have to switch around what we have to present. This indirectly affected the team presentation (luckily no marks were given >_<).
I also did minor changes on the pages of the app before the presentation, this is after some feedback from user that the checkbox(look at the top image) button would not work as it will cramped the pages after viewing it from Grant mockup phone.
Once the class was done, Grant said he will start on the medium fidelity of the app and Rahul will read on the requirements of the CRA, Team compact etc. Myself i have to do minor changes on the icons and stuff so that can grant can used for the medium fidelity app.
Reflection of the day: I do not want to sound bad but Bhadjee contribution have been very minimal for this past few weeks.I should have voiced out earlier but i feel as if the team seems fine with his involvement so far thus i am keeping quiet about it.
Really loved the method of traditional paper prototyping as i find it very useful.
For the app itself, things is going well and on tracked sadly it feels like we were working win 3's at the moment.
The wizard was saying in the last workshop prototyping is not just starting from scratch and redo things all over again, this process clearly shows what he meant. Even after i finalized the concept of the app and layout i still have the user to empathize and change accordingly to what that will fit in accordingly.
